We’re sitting in a pivotal time in the BenchPrep history. The number of learners on our cloud-based learning platform has reached almost 7 million in 2021. We’re committed to helping people learn better, and that starts with our own people. Your RoleLearning Technology Interns will support customer use of our platform as they load content delivered to learners as a web-based application. The successful applicant will be using available technology to manipulate, ingest, style, and enhance the wide variety of educational materials we receive from enterprise customers. As a Learning Technology Intern, some of your tasks will require close collaboration while other more open-ended projects must be taken on independently and approached creatively. As a member of our team, you will play an active role in the day-to-day production of our customer’s learning products as well as team initiatives that will shape the future of our organization.Learning Technology Interns will:
  • Assist in the review various content file formats and determine the conversion method to transfer the content into our content management system, BluePrint
  • Assist in the creation of CSV files and other ingestion templates to enable the import of content
  • Work with customers to define all necessary styles and create CSS for online courses
  • Provide consultation for adding interactive content into customer programs/courses 
  • Collaborate with our team’s Learning Content Managers for optimal learner experience
  • Perform thorough quality assurance (QA) for HTML/CSS in new courses as needed
  • Learn and use industry advances to keep delivering exceptional learning experiences 
  • Collaborate within BenchPrep to plan new platform features 
In addition to working directly with various members of the Professional Services team, you will also work with our Learning Technology Manager and Resource Operations Manager for coaching and mentoring on your career development aspirations. In the process of the internship, you will also gain exposure and perspective as you experience working in an education technology startup.Skills and Experiences We Value**You have coursework in technology, education, design or communications. You are interested in applying technology in innovative ways to education and training. You excel in learning new technologies and are comfortable clearly communicating your ideas and contributing to a team environment. You enjoy working with others to support the proprietary technologies that enable our learning programs.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
  • Current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year undergraduate or masters-level collegiate program and applicable personal or professional experience in education and/or technology
  • Interest in instructional design and/or technology
  • An understanding of complex spreadsheet formulas
  • Experience reading or writing Regular Expressions
  • Experience reading or writing computer code
  • Familiarity with a learning management system and
  • Familiarity with working with a content management system
  • Ability to contribute remotely to both highly collaborative and more independent projects, including reliable access to high-speed internet and availability during the CT workday

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
