This position is for an IT Architect within Caterpillar IT Division. In this position, incumbent will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of applications across the Enterprise Product Life Cycle (ePLM) landscape. This position provides IT enablement partnership and services for Caterpillar's global engineering community. Engagement landscape will include Creo, Teamcenter, and Legacy Mainframe. The incumbent will also be accountable to work in a collaborative manner with a global and diverse partnership network. What You Will Do:
- Architect and implement scalable Teamcenter PLM solutions, including Rich Client and Active Workspace environments.
- Lead upgrade initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
- Design and optimize workflows for the various programs including BoM management, CAD, Change Management, DEX, Foundation, Visualization and Security etc.
- Collaborate with Siemens, Supplier partners and internal stakeholders to strategize and lead ePLM Program initiatives.
- Rationalize legacy customizations and adopt out-of-the-box capabilities with local Teamcenter and Teamcenter SaaS.
- Provide architectural guidance in IT components including Oracle-Teamcenter Database Architecture, multi-site support, Teamcenter Data Modeling and customizations
- Provide technical leadership in vendor coordination, performance tuning, and infrastructure planning.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, IT technical certification or equivalent experience
- Proficient in IT applications and Technology stack
- Experience with CAD, Siemens Teamcenter, Creo, and NX applications
- Experience customizing Teamcenter and CAD software packages (e.g. Creo, NX, etc.)
- Experience implementing software solutions utilizing 3rd party API's
- Core Application Systems: Knowledge of PLM applications and systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients. Evaluates key interfaces and interdependencies among PLM applications systems. Explains features and benefits of PLM applications for adoption by Engineering Product Development groups.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of PLM Teamcenter, Creo, CAD and Visualization applications, product functionality and customizations, and the ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Apply technical operating and project standards based on achieving excellence in delivered products, technologies and services.
- Application Modernization: Knowledge of the concepts, processes and technologies of application modernization; ability to design, develop and deploy modernized applications based on business requirements.
- Business Assessment: Applies tools and techniques for gathering business requirements, defines the user stories, deliverables, prioritization based on business demands. Participate in conducting prioritization review based on the business value enabled.
- System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms.
Plays an active role in local integration efforts.
