We are seeking an IT Director to serve as the strategic and operational leader for Thrive’s information systems environment, driving data connectivity, automation, and security across a multi-state, acquisition-driven healthcare organization. This role combines hands-on technical work in data aggregation and SQL automation with leadership responsibilities overseeing IT infrastructure, reporting, and system integration. The IT Director will guide technology strategy, ensure HIPAA and IT security compliance, and build scalable, automated data solutions that power business intelligence and revenue cycle performance

Job Responsibilities

Systems Integration & Data Aggregation

  • Identify optimal methods to extract and automate data feeds into the Thrive data lake and Power BI environment, primarily via SQL databases or APIs.
  • Develop creative, repeatable solutions to normalize disparate data structures across partner systems.
  • Ensure ongoing data accuracy and integrity across all integrated sources.
  • Lead technical due diligence for new acquisitions by assessing EMR, PMS, and ancillary systems.

Automation & Reporting Leadership

  • Design and oversee automation of core operational and financial reporting to reduce reliance on third-party vendors.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex Power BI and SQL reporting initiatives.
  • Standardize reporting processes and documentation to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Support the Revenue Cycle Management team with data visibility, workflow optimization, and technical troubleshooting.

IT Strategy & Security Oversight

  • Serve as Thrive’s Information Security Officer, fulfilling OCR/HHS requirements and leading HIPAA and ePHI risk mitigation efforts.
  • Conduct annual IT security risk assessments and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Advise leadership on system and platform consolidation initiatives, including EMR/PMS migrations.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and ensure service delivery aligns with business needs.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with company executives and acquisition leadership to align technical integration plans with business objectives.
  • Communicate complex data and system concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Shows interest in future team leadership as the IT function expands.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in IT leadership, data architecture, or analytics—preferably within healthcare or multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong SQL expertise and proven experience building automated data integrations.
  • Proficiency with Power BI and experience designing data pipelines and dashboards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA, ePHI security, and healthcare system data structures (EMR/PMS).
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Local to Chicago

Attributes for Success

  • Creative problem solver comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced acquisition environments.
  • Strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Passion for automation, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative partner who can build credibility with clinical, financial, and operational leaders.

Compensation

Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary, as well as an annual performance bonus
