Location: Remote with up to 50% travel to Colorado * Clearance: Ability to attain a Public Trust Clearance 

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Journey IT Project Manager with specialized expertise in ArcGIS and geospatial data management to oversee and ensure the successful delivery of complex GIS-driven initiatives. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for project performance and will work closely with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to plan, coordinate, and execute geospatial tasks using Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will combine IT project management experience with a deep understanding of ArcGIS platforms, data integration, and enterprise geospatial solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of ArcGIS and geospatial data management projects in alignment with contract requirements and organizational objectives.
Collaborate with CORs and internal stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables specific to GIS initiatives.
Apply Agile methodologies to manage iterative development cycles for geospatial projects, ensuring timely updates and stakeholder transparency.
Oversee project resources, risks, and dependencies, particularly related to ArcGIS platform implementations and integrations.
Coordinate with GIS analysts, developers, and data managers to ensure quality and accuracy of geospatial data.
Prepare and present project documentation, including geospatial roadmaps, schedules, risk mitigation strategies, and status reports.
Ensure that data governance principles and federal geospatial standards are applied across project deliverables.
Continuously assess and optimize processes for GIS data integration, metadata management, and enterprise system performance. 

 

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 

Previous experience with National Park Services, Information Resources Directorate
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience as an IT Project Manager, including geospatial project oversight.
Strong knowledge of ArcGIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) and their application in enterprise environments.
Demonstrated expertise in Agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
Understanding of geospatial data structures, metadata standards, and data integration approaches.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in matrixed teams. 


Preferred Qualifications
Experience in federal contracting environments or supporting CORs on GIS-related initiatives.
Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or Esri Technical Certifications (e.g., ArcGIS Desktop Professional).
Familiarity with federal data governance frameworks and geospatial data standards (FGDC, ISO 19115).
Experience managing data migration, data cataloging, and enterprise geospatial integration projects.
