Support FOIA request processing by performing internet and records research, identifying responsive documents, preparing redactions, applying FOIA exemptions under supervision, logging and routing incoming requests, and drafting response materials.
TechOp Solutions is seeking a remote Junior FOIA Analyst to conduct initial FOIA request reviews, perform records searches, draft response materials, and apply exemptions under supervision.
***This position is contingent upon contract award.***
- Assist in conducting internet and records-based research to support FOIA search and retrieval efforts.
- Support document review, identification of responsive records, and preparation of materials for redaction.
- Apply appropriate FOIA exemptions and redactions consistent with federal law
- Receives, logs, scans, and routes incoming FOIA and mail records in accordance with established procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of FOIA request processing experience supporting a US Government agency within the last 24 months.
- Proficient in applying redaction tools and documenting FOIA exemption determinations.
- Associate degree.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive internet and records research in support of FOIA search and review functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with leadership.
