The Junior Visual Design Strategist plays a key role in crafting visually compelling materials that transform data and written content into engaging visual narratives. Reporting to the Visual Design Strategist, they demonstrate the ability to tell complex stories through smart, highly creative design solutions—whether the project calls for a serious tone or a more whimsical approach. With a strong proficiency in PowerPoint and an interest in data visualization and storytelling, they manage multiple projects effectively, staying ahead of shifting deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail. They take ownership of their work, asking thoughtful questions throughout a project’s lifecycle and proactively seeking guidance when needed. This role is ideal for a creative professional with 3+ years of graphic design experience who is eager to lead design initiatives and contribute to high-impact visual storytelling.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Chicago, IL or New York, NY office.

Core Responsibilities

Client Deliverables:

  • Design and enhance PowerPoint presentations to create polished, professional, and visually engaging client proposals, reports, and insights decks (90% of time will be spent utilizing PowerPoint / 10% Adobe).
  • Transform complex data sets and written content into clear, compelling visual narratives using charts, infographics, and other design elements.
  • Design presentations and reports using client templates and branding, while showcasing versatility in creating unique visuals when needed.

Marketing & Branding:

  • Assist in the design of marketing collateral, including brochures, one-pagers, email templates, and social media assets, ensuring consistency with our brand identity.
  • Support visual updates to corporate culture initiatives, such as internal newsletters, event materials, and employee engagement campaigns.

Collaboration & Innovation:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including market researchers and marketing professionals, to align visuals with key messages and objectives.
  • Proactively suggest and implement improvements to design workflows, templates, and visual standards.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all deliverables adhere to brand guidelines and maintain the highest standard of visual consistency and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • Strong experience designing in PowerPoint, with demonstrated ability to create polished and visually engaging presentations is essential for success in this role.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in design tools such as PowerPoint & Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Knowledge of data visualization principles and the ability to translate data into impactful visual formats.
  • Understanding typography, layout design, and color theory.
  • Proficiency in using AI assistance for audience analysis and content optimization is a bonus.

  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

For this role, the anticipated base salary range is provided below. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include discretionary bonuses, benefits, and, for sales roles, potential sales commissions.

The final base salary offered will depend on factors such as the market, your skills, capabilities, and relevant experience, which will be objectively evaluated during the interview process. If you are a candidate for this role, your HR Partner can provide more details about the full compensation and benefits package associated with this position. Base Salary Range (US) $65,000 - $75,000
