In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise and lead sales and operations planning (S&OP)-focused initiatives that address a wide range of supply chain planning challenges, enabling Caterpillar's machine divisions to achieve their business objectives while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and processes.
What You Will Do:
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives working with a diverse group of internal and external partners, developing and documenting business requirements and proposing solutions to solve business problems
  • Lead the development and deployment of solutions driving operational performance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive the planning, coordination, and execution of S&OP related projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement scalable solution strategies that enhance efficiency, mitigate risk, and support long-term business objectives.

Education Requirement:
Bachelors in a supply chain related area or with equivalent work experience
What skills you will have:
Procurement & Supply Chain Systems
  • Lead initiatives leveraging existing enterprise systems or developing new ones to support sales and operational planning.
  • Be the interface between the users and the technical teams to ensure user requirements can be met and user experience can be maximized
  • Lead training and deployment of solutions to business units to improve procurement outcomes.

Strategic & Tactical Planning
  • Develop and communicate tactical plans for solution initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Link short-term actions to long-term strategic supply chain objectives.
  • Manage resources effectively to support solution development and deployment

Product & Service Knowledge
  • Research market/ industry trends and to inform improvements in the S&OP processes
  • Deliver solutions within budgeted costs and timelines

Analytical Thinking
  • Apply business analytics to define/formulate problem statements and in the development of solutions
  • Champion data-driven approaches to improve the S&OP processes.

Program Delivery & Change Leadership
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of solution delivery, from planning through implementation.
  • Evaluate and manage change to drive solution adoption
  • Lead documentation and best practices for transformational initiatives across business units.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Experience in sales and operations planning (S&OP) or supply chain operations, ideally within industrial or construction sectors like Caterpillar.
  • A proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex, transformational business solutions.
  • Strong change management capabilities, with the ability to influence and implement initiatives across all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical thinking, with the ability to quickly assess challenges and develop strategic, data-driven solutions.
  • Exposure to global or regional operations within a complex organization, with an understanding of product group dynamics and stakeholder engagement.

Additional Information:
  • This position does not offer sponsorship.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
  • Travel requirement: Approximately 25%.
  • The role is based in Peoria, IL and requires on-site presence five days a week.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
