Position Summary

The Lead Director of Corporate Events will be accountable for ensuring strategic and operational alignment of all meetings and conferences, and other internal and external events with the overall strategy with a primary focus on CVS Health's B2B/B2C business segments.

This role will develop an annual calendar, ensure Corporate Event assets foster business growth, manage overall budgets on behalf of business partners with a focus on increasing cost savings and efficiencies, and implementing KPI to measure our efforts. The candidate also will drive a disciplined and consistent customer experience, while measuring ROI.

Job Description

  • Lead a team of 10 managers
  • Strategically work with internal business partners across the Enterprise to understand, facilitate and support their goals and objectives while proactively and effectively integrating events into business plans that help grow our business and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business leaders - with a particular focus on B2B/B2C events strategy - to deeply understand business strategies, develop an annual strategy and help drive and manage events  
  • Create and enhance use of accurate and actionable analytics and reporting to support decision-making.
  • Identify operational challenges and develop solution-based strategies/processes
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as legal, IT, HR, and marketing to continue to implement operational efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Partner with external agencies, vendors and works with cross-functional internal teams; creative services, marketing operations to develop and successfully execute programs.
  • Ensure compliance policy and procedures are followed, completes all required approvals and processes.
  • Lead internal business partners and teams to create compelling agendas, customer and employee engagement and influence overall design, ensuring consistent enterprise best practices are leveraged for some of the enterprise’s largest events
  • Remain current and updated on industry trends in event management and integrates them into the design of the event, when applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of meeting management experience with internal and external customers.
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience
  • Cvent expertise (RFP, website development, overall management, communications, reporting)
  • Ability to work strategically and effectively with complex clients with evolving business needs, using professional judgement to challenge thinking or behavior constructively when appropriate.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Suite. Powerpoint skills should be intermediate to advanced.

Travel required:

This position will require approximately 35% travel including weekends. Must be able to carry and lift heavy objects up to 35 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license to rent cars.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • CMP certificate, preferred
  • Cvent Certification, preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
