Overview

The Lead Director Finance Analytics leads all analytics support for PS Finance. This role oversees analytics teams, partners closely with senior finance leaders, and ensures analytics work drives better business decisions. The Director will also lead the adoption of AI-powered analytics and modern reporting tools to make insights more accessible and actionable.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead multiple analytics teams through Senior Managers.
  • Set the overall strategy, priorities, and performance expectations for analytics delivery.
  • Develop, coach, and retain analytics leaders and team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, business partnership, and analytical excellence.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary analytics partner for PS Finance leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with VP-level and executive stakeholders.
  • Align analytics priorities with the most important business objectives.
  • Help stakeholders determine the right analytical approach to answer business questions.

Analytics Strategy & Innovation

  • Drive the evolution of analytics capabilities, including:
    • AI-powered analytics
    • Conversational analytics (e.g., ThoughtSpot)
    • Self-service reporting and insights
  • Define analytics requirements that guide data platform and technology investments.
  • Focus the team on work that influences business decisions, not just reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering and IT to ensure data and technology platforms support analytics needs.
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into clear data and technology expectations.
  • Maintain alignment between analytics goals and platform capabilities.

Operating Model & Governance

  • Establish standards, processes, and quality expectations for analytics work.
  • Ensure analytics projects are prioritized effectively and tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Monitor delivery performance and drive continuous improvement.

Executive Communication

  • Represent the analytics function in leadership meetings.
  • Provide updates on analytics strategy, investments, team performance, and business impact.
  • Demonstrate how analytics supports key finance objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing analytics teams, including people leaders.
  • Proven success partnering with VP-level or executive stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting, dashboards, data visualization, exploratory analysis, and advanced analytics.
  • Experience leading multiple analytics teams with different areas of focus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience transforming an analytics function from reporting-focused to decision-focused.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven analytics, conversational analytics, and self-service intelligence.
  • Familiarity with finance, healthcare finance, or financial services environments.
  • Experience working closely with enterprise IT and data platform teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence significant business decisions through analytics.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud).
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
