Position Summary

CVS Health, one of the top health solutions companies in the United States, is seeking a strategic planning leader to facilitate the development and execution of operational and business unit strategic plans. As a leader you will instill best in class policies, procedures, and plans for your designated priority areas. You will act independently to address issues, guide direction, and provide strategic analysis for the Aetna organization.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Planning, this is a highly visible and collaborative position responsible for managing strategic programs and projects and delivering on key initiatives for the Aetna COO and senior leadership team. This role works in close partnership with colleagues from across all lines of business, operational areas, and the shared services teams.
This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders, requiring the candidate to be highly effective in a matrixed environment and possess the ability to navigate the organization and quickly build understanding of different businesses.
This position can be office-based or hybrid.

Required Qualifications

  • ​10+ years’ work experience in health care, insurance or related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in strategic program/project management
  • 5+ years’ direct management or matrixed management experience
  • Experience preparing PowerPoint decks for executive level presentations
  • Must be able to travel 20-30%, as necessary
  • Ability to work east coast time zone
  • Demonstrated self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, cross-functional, collaborative, high-performance environment
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple high-priority programs and projects simultaneously, with impeccable attention to detail and organization
  • Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
  • Approaches challenges with a sense of urgency and works well under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to convey information in an accessible, concise, and clear manner
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining excellent relations with executives, customers, operations, and colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to influence others without direct management responsibility
  • Ability to think strategically, adapt quickly and work through ambiguity

  • Experience working directly with senior executives, and cross functional teams
  • Operational experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
