Are you ready to power the World's connections?

If you don’t think you meet all of the criteria below but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box - we’re looking for candidates that are particularly strong in a few areas, and have some interest and capabilities in others.

About the Role:

We are looking for a hands-on, data-driven growth marketer to build and scale Kong's product-led growth engine. As Lead Growth Marketer, you will work directly with the Head of Product Marketing to establish the foundations of growth marketing at Kong, driving acquisition, activation, and expansion across our self-serve product motions. You will serve as a player/coach—executing campaigns while building the playbooks, processes, and infrastructure for a world-class PLG motion. You are equal parts strategist and executor, with a passion for experimentation, funnel optimization, and turning product usage into revenue. You have experience scaling self-serve SaaS products and thrive in fast-moving environments where you can own outcomes end-to-end.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the full self-serve funnel from awareness through conversion and expansion, with a relentless focus on improving key metrics at each stage

  • Build and execute experimentation frameworks across channels, messaging, landing pages, onboarding flows, and in-product touchpoints

  • Partner closely with Product to optimize user activation and identify product-qualified leads (PQLs) for sales handoff

  • Develop and manage lifecycle marketing programs that drive trial conversion, feature adoption, and upsell/cross-sell

  • Instrument and analyze the self-serve funnel, turning data into actionable insights and clear reporting for stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Demand Gen, Content, and Web teams to drive qualified traffic to self-serve entry points

  • Build the growth marketing playbook at Kong—documenting what works, scaling successful experiments, and establishing repeatable processes

  • Stay current on PLG best practices and bring fresh ideas from the broader growth marketing community

Who You Are:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, or demand generation, ideally at a developer-focused or infrastructure SaaS company

  • Proven track record of driving measurable improvements in self-serve conversion, activation, or expansion metrics

  • Highly analytical with hands-on experience in marketing automation (HubSpot, Marketo, etc.), product analytics (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo), and A/B testing tools

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Data teams to drive outcomes

  • Strong bias for action—you ship fast, learn fast, and iterate

  • Experience with PLG motions, freemium models, or developer tools strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives for stakeholders
