Job Description

Reporting to the APAC L&D Associate Director this role supports employee development for the Asia region and ensures the smooth functioning of all learning initiatives – The design and implementation of learning experience that build workforce capability and organisational performance. Acting as a business partner to diagnose skill gaps, create tailored solutions, align learning with business goals, and measure the impact of development initiatives to drive long-term growth.

The role also includes leading the Early Careers function (including Graduate Development and Cadet/Intern programs) to ensure intakes are aligned to the business priorities and the strategic objectives of the programs – supporting annual recruitment, planning and delivering ongoing Early Careers event, focused on engagement, technical and behavioural skills development.

The role requires high levels of Communication Skills (written and oral) Interpersonal Skills, Creativity and Flexibility, Analytical, Problem Solving, Facilitation and Networking Skills.

L&D duties and responsibilities

Serves as an advisor who analyses business challenges and identifies the need for learning interventions to improve performance and drive business outcomes. Co-ordinates, manages and promotes learning and development initiatives and practices, including Early Careers through excellent stakeholder relationships and continuous service improvement activities for the region including, but not limited to:

  • Identify skill gaps and training needs through stakeholder consultation and data analysis.
  • Partner with leaders to ensure development initiatives support organisational priorities.
  • Develop bespoke L&D solutions, frameworks, and content (e.g., leadership, technical skills).
  • Facilitate training, manage e-learning platforms, and oversee program rollout.
  • Build relationships, report progress, and communicate benefits to leaders.
  • Measure training effectiveness and demonstrate impact on business performance.

Early careers duties and responsibilities

  • Supports the co-ordination and management of the annual Early Careers intake, in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Team, to ensure intake is aligned to business requirements.
  • Serve as the point of contract for all graduate related activities.
  • Co-ordinate and lead interim/final assessments for graduate and cadet development program and support the operational promotions and communication process.
  • Develop and maintain as required regular reports, briefing notes and correspondence on the progress of skill assessments, technical training completion, KPIs and metrics.
  • Design and deliver events, workshops/sessions and resources through collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to support a diverse array of professional development opportunities
  • Proactively develop and sustain stakeholder relationships across the business to ensure successful delivery and development of Early Careers.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
  • Comply with the requirements of Turner & Townsend’s Business Management Systems including Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management associated with the role and position within the company.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified in Training and Assessment, Administration or Human Resources or related field (preferred)
  • 2-3 years experience in a learning and development or similar role in large, complex organisation
  • Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating learning programs that build capability and drive performance outcomes.
  • Able to develop engaging training materials, e-learning content, and blended learning solutions that cater to diverse audiences.
  • Able to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with leaders, teams, and external providers.
  • Competent working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and using data and analytics to monitor and report on learning outcomes.
  • Can support organisational change through learning interventions that support adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Solid analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to assess program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
  • Familiarity with digital learning technologies, virtual platforms, and innovative approaches to remote and hybrid learning delivery.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and timelines while maintaining quality outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with, influence and engage diverse stakeholders and audiences.
  • Excellent administrative, reporting, and organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet required deadlines.
  • Understanding of, and connection to relevant university partners and professional organisations (desirable).
