The Machinist position is located in Dixon, IL. and will set up and operate at the highest level, with no supervision, mill and lathe machines. Both CNC and conventional machines. Inspect all features of aerospace and industrial system components, ensuring conformance to engineering requirements, specifications, and special instructions. 1st Shift hours are Monday-Thursday 4:00am to 2:00pm.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Operates conventional and CNC machines at the highest level for the production of aerospace and industrial components.

  • Able to perform set-ups on conventional and CNC machines with no supervision, both mills and lathes.

  • Understand, maintain, and execute Donaldson Quality Policies and Procedures. 

  • Able to adjust and/ or modify programs to bring parts into tolerance.

  • May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

  • Use inspection equipment to complete in-process inspection and first article reports.

  • May assist in the orientation and training of lower-level employees.

  • Perform basic machine maintenance as required.

  • Inspect the manufactured product for uniformity, conformance, and record.

  • Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Six years of consistent machining experience, CNC or conventional both mills and lathes.

  • Must be able to program CNC machines

  • Ability to demonstrate intellectual skills through analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, development of technical skills, and innovative solutions.

  • Ability to read and understand all levels of blueprint features and machine shop routers.

  • Ability to read, understand, and edit G and M code programming (CNC only).

  • Perform a variety of tasks safely throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.

  • Reacts to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.

Hourly Rate: $31.71

Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, and performance.

This position is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth
