Role and Responsibilities: UpEquity is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager, FP&A to join our growing team. You will be instrumental in building out our finance function from the ground up and will have direct responsibility for key financial processes. This role offers high visibility and the chance to significantly influence our financial planning and strategic decision making

We are looking for a proactive individual who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, take

ownership of tasks, and contribute to the development of a finance department

As a Manager, FP&A, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Drive all CFO-related workstreams forward, including updating monthly financials, budgeting, bookkeeping, and building out financial projection models
  • Perform customer-level data analysis (e.g., cohort analyses, unit economics, etc.)
  • Working closely with the CEO and other key executives to research, plan, and execute on new initiatives and special projects

We know this role isn’t for everybody, so this is what we’re looking for:

  • Previous work experience in consulting, private equity or investment banking, and/or venture capital
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A
  • Previous experience (and a high level of proficiency) using Excel
  • Proven ability to act autonomously. You’re going to be expected to drive a lot of projects forward individually, and we want you to be resourceful enough to go figure things out
  • Intellectual curiosity to present new ideas and think outside the box
  • Willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the real estate / mortgage industry (no prior experience necessary)
  • Travel not expected for this position
  • The ability to help shape processes and procedures from the ground up

Important Details: 

  • You must reside in Austin or Chicago
  • You must be willing to work in the office (Downtown Austin/Chicago)
