The Manager, IT Operations is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and oversight of IT operations to ensure the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the organization’s technology environment. This role manages teams, processes, and services that support infrastructure, systems, applications, and end-user technologies. Partners with Engineering, Information Security, and business stakeholders to align IT operations with business objectives and deliver high-quality service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead IT operations teams, providing direction, coaching, and performance management to support organizational goals.
  • Oversee daily operations of infrastructure, systems, applications, and IT service management (ITSM) functions.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability through monitoring, maintenance, and incident response.
  • Manage IT service delivery processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards for operations, security, and compliance.
  • Partner with technology and business leaders to align operational priorities with strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize budgets, vendor relationships, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, and adoption of best practices.
  • Prepare and present operational metrics, performance reports, and risk assessments to leadership.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support business needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Education: First-level and/or advanced university degree preferred.
  • Typical experience: 8+ years in related role or experience including 2+ years in management.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT operations, service delivery, or infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, applications, and service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Proven leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and business functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, resources, and projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Actual experience may vary depending on role complexity, geography, and internal development opportunities or a comparable mix of training, education, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CompTIA, cloud platform certifications).
  • Experience managing global IT operations in cloud-first or hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and data privacy requirements affecting IT operations.
  • Background in automation, monitoring tools, and modern IT operations practices (e.g., SRE, DevOps).
  • Prior experience in SaaS, technology, or media industries.

Physical Requirements

  • This role may be performed in an office, remote, or hybrid work environment, depending on business needs and applicable work arrangements. Standard working hours apply, though flexibility may be required to accommodate deadlines or collaboration across time zones. Occasional travel may be required based on business demands.

For Individuals based in New York, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, and California, Cision is required to disclose a salary range for this role. This compensation range is specific to these states, however base pay may vary depending on a range of relevant factors.
