Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for the payroll processing functions for OhioHealth. This position manages a team of five Payroll Analysts and Sr. Analysts, developing workflow and processes, and assigning tasks to complete the full cycle payroll process. The Payroll department has approximately 10 FTEs and is responsible for timely and accurate payroll information for approximately 20,000 employees paid under nine EINs, with a gross annual payroll exceeding $1b. Major areas of focus: Management of the payroll process, scheduling and work allocation. Team performance management including hiring, training, coaching and development. PeopleSoft & Kronos system configuration. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations including tax and FLSA processing. Develop and maintain relationships with external departments. Assist Director to accomplish the organization's overall payroll processing objectives by helping to develop procedures, policies, audits and benchmarks.Responsibilities And Duties:
Management of Payroll Process 1. Distributes workload, assigns tasks, sets or modifies schedule 2. Transfers payroll information to general ledger 3. Delivers payroll reports to departments 4. Performs/assists with routine filing of tax information Federal, State, Local l 5. Provides customer service to departments 6. Supplemental Payrolls 7. W- 2 Production/quality control. Management of Payroll Staff 1. Recruits, develops, motivates and monitors staff members 2. Completes timely staff reviews 3. Creates individualized staff development plans 4. With Director, plans and runs biweekly department meetings 5. Coordinates employee opinion survey action plans 6. Routinely reviews staff work products Maintain current knowledge of taxes and HR policies 1. Completes routine education/payroll certification 2. Maintains knowledge of HR policies 3. Participates in local payroll associations 4. Transfers knowledge to staff in monthly training class External Departments Relationships 1. Attends monthly meetings with HR2. Attends monthly meetings with Finance and IS Director Assistance 1. Upgrades Information Systems PeopleSoft/Matrix/Kronos, E-Pay installation 2. Internal Controls/Policies & Procedures Addressing Internal Audit comments, implementing payroll policies external/internal to department t , documenting/testing internal controls 3. Customer Service Survey 4. Performs assessment of OhioHealth status Benefits Taxability/IRS Compliance e compared to IRS requirementsMinimum Qualifications:
