About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Manager, Reporting & Analytics, to join our dynamic team to lead our reporting and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong data analysis, reporting, and visualization background with the ability to work with various functions to enhance and expand our reporting and analytics capabilities. The candidate will manage the team of BI developers to develop, implement, and optimize business intelligence solutions using Microsoft PowerBI and AnaplanXL. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively. The Manager will partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to promote a culture of analytical excellence and self-service data access. Key responsibilities:
- Execute on a business intelligence strategy aligned with Ventas’s strategic goals. Advocate for the effective use of BI tools in decision-making and promote adoption across departments.
- Lead the reporting & analytics team to design, create, and maintain interactive, user-friendly dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights
- Design and manage data models, including relationships, hierarchies, and measures to ensure data integrity and optimal performance
- Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data from various sources into reporting models. This includes working with databases, multi-dimensional models, spreadsheets, and other data storage solutions.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can support decision-making processes
- Interact with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other IT team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
- Define governance approaches and act as a business and/or technical expert to attain objectives, including gateway setups, capacity & license planning, optimization, etc.
- Coach functional power users to be able to derive the full value of reporting solutions
- Mentor and manage reporting portfolio and workload for other BI developers
- Continuously monitor and improve BI solutions for performance, usability, and reliability
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI reports, data models, and processes
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by staying current with BI tools and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, related field or equivalent degree with experience
- 8-10 years of experience in developing reporting solutions and dashboards
- 3-5 years of experience in leading reporting and analytics teams
- Must be located in Chicago, IL surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
- Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations.
- Proficiency in PowerBI, including DAX and Power Query
- Strong understanding of data modeling using tabular and multi-dimensional models, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with T-SQL, MDX, and relational databases
- Knowledge of AnaplanXL and other BI tools and/or platforms is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 – $180,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
