Job Description

Lead Strategic Client Consultants in the retention of profitable business. Develop and grow talent to ensure National Account market segment success. Represent market needs to the organization, accomplished through strategic partnerships with clients, consultants, and producers. This position is responsible for national accounts in major segment 1,000+.

What You'll Do

  • Expands BCBSNC’s footprint within our client base through consultative cross selling.  

  • Works successfully with client advisors, such as consultants or brokers, to meet client expectations and leads their team in meeting these promises for our clients.  

  • Responsible for talent development on the team; providing input to internal departments to help the team meet the expectations of the market; and measured success of our value for our clientsAssist team to help them achieve growth in role and guide them on career goals.  

  • Possesses significant ownership of the sales and retention functions for the assigned market segmentFocuses exclusively on the unique challenges of this customer type and develops segment-specific sales and retention strategies to achieve the organization’s goals. 

  • Serves as a resource within the company for market intelligence related to this business segment.  

  • Establishes rapport and maintains open lines of communication with the sales retention staff and motivates them to support and maintain existing products and services and upsell new solutionsAssists sales retention and service staff by accompanying them when calling on prospective and enrolled clientsServes as the company’s ambassador for this segment in both the business and producer communities. 

  • Set goals for the team and monitor progress to ensure that KPIs and sales goals are achieved. 

  • Serves management and the staff within the segment as an expert on all related matters, including: compliance with state and/or federal regulations, product and service offerings, operational capabilities, contract negotiations and executions, underwriting guidelines. 

What You Have

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 8+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field

Additional Requirements

  • 15% - 20% travel required (NC and out-of-state) 

  • Attainment of NC Health and Life licensure within 90 days of employment

Compensation

This is a sales incentive role with a total compensation package that consists of a base salary and sales incentive target component. All sales roles are eligible for an initial draw/guarantee to assist new hires with their on-boarding with the company.
