How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice:
As Manager of Social Media Strategy & Community, the primary purpose is to lead and develop an effective content strategy for Paula’s Choice ensuring its alignment with brand objectives. This involves driving strategic initiatives for content creation, overseeing social platforms to enhance reach and engagement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate content strategies into 360 campaigns. The candidate is tasked with balancing brand storytelling and commerce-driven content, leading organic content creation efforts, and leveraging analytics to optimize performance. Additionally, the role involves managing relationships with analytics vendors and platform leads, staying informed about industry trends, and adapting to an agile model for efficient collaboration between cross-functional teams. The goal is to elevate Paula’s Choice social presence, supporting business objectives with a unified budget mindset.
As Manager of Social Media Strategy & Community, a typical day might include a mix of the following:
- Lead the execution of a content strategy that is highly effective, rooted in brand objectives, and supports 360 campaigns. Success is measured by the strategy's alignment with brand goals and its impact on the growth of reach, engagement, and audience on social platforms.
- Collaborate with the Social Media team to plan and execute content-first social campaigns. Success involves building brand awareness, supporting product launches, and capitalizing on key cultural moments, with a focus on both storytelling and commerce-driven content.
- Ideate, evaluate and create content concepts, ensuring alignment with overall marketing strategies. Success is achieved through the production of high-quality in-house social content, including videos and photography, and the effective utilization of tactics such as paid boosting and livestreams to expand content reach.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and continually improve the brand's digital presence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of social initiatives with other marketing and brand initiatives.
- Manage and analyze social media and digital performance metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimization.
- Work closely with creators and external creative partners as needed to execute content.
- Monitor and manage the brand's online reputation and respond to any social media or digital inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay informed of changes and updates to social media algorithms and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Continuously seek out innovative and creative ideas to enhance the brand's digital and social presence and drive engagement.
- Ensure all content and campaigns adhere to brand guidelines and meet legal and regulatory requirements.
The Details:
- Location: We are based in Seattle, WA and have a strong preference for local candidates
- Hours: Typical business hours, but with flexibility to global time zones as needed.
- Physical requirements: Ability to handle both sitting and screen time for long periods of time
- Travel requirements: Less than 5%
What you’ll bring to the table:
- 3-5 years of work experience in social media, marketing, content. Beauty experience a plus.
- Content Strategy Leadership: Proven success in executing content strategies aligned with brand goals.
- Social Media Expertise: Hands-on experience driving growth on social platforms with a focus on content-first strategies. Working knowledge of major platforms and an eye on emerging ones.
- Self-starter who can articulate big ideas and exciting trends. Strong eye for viral content.
- Current with pop culture, entertainment news and industry trends.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams for seamless content integration.
- Content Creation: Demonstrated ability to drive high-quality content creation, including video and photography production.
- Analytical Optimization: Proven skills in setting goals, tracking performance, and optimizing content based on analytics.
- Communication Leadership: Strong communication skills, providing thought influence on social media best practices.

- On-Camera Talent: Previous experience as on-camera talent and sourcing additional talent for effective representation in social content a plus.
Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:
$105,000 - $115,000 USD/annually

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
