Position Summary

The Chief Marketing Officer is an enterprise commercial leader responsible for building and executing a fully integrated marketing and revenue growth strategy across the Maple Hospitality Group portfolio. This role oversees brand marketing, digital performance, CRM, PR, and demand generation while also providing strategic oversight of event and partnership sales performance across markets.

The CMO ensures that marketing functions as a measurable revenue engine, aligning brand strategy, guest acquisition, private event sales, partnerships, and customer retention into one unified commercial ecosystem. The role partners closely with Operations, Finance, Culinary, and Development leadership to support new market launches, sustained EBITDA growth, and long-term brand equity.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and lead the enterprise marketing and commercial growth strategy across all concepts and markets
  • Align marketing investment directly to revenue outcomes including covers growth, private event sales, membership initiatives, and guest retention
  • Partner with executive leadership to support new restaurant openings and market expansion strategies
  • Establish enterprise demand generation frameworks that integrate digital marketing, partnerships, local store marketing, and outbound sales activation
  • Support and oversee ad buys, SEO, PR and other third party marketing services
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure disciplined management of the marketing P&L, ROI performance, and customer acquisition cost optimization

Sales Enablement & Revenue Partnership

  • Provide strategic oversight of private events and partnership sales performance across all markets, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and revenue goals
  • Build commercial playbooks that support local teams in driving outbound business development, corporate partnerships, and community-driven revenue opportunities
  • Partner with Operations and Events leadership to develop scalable systems, reporting structures, and tools that strengthen pipeline visibility and conversion performance
  • Establish enterprise revenue KPIs linking marketing performance to bookings, covers, repeat visitation, and lifetime guest value

Brand Strategy & Portfolio Positioning

  • Lead brand positioning strategy across the full restaurant and nightlife portfolio, ensuring each concept maintains a clear market identity while reinforcing enterprise brand strength
  • Oversee creative direction, storytelling strategy, and guest experience messaging across all channels
  • Guide executive-level reputation management strategy, including proactive brand monitoring and crisis communications frameworks

Digital, CRM, and Performance Marketing

  • Design and lead a full-funnel digital performance strategy including paid media, lifecycle marketing, database growth, and loyalty activation
  • Oversee the development of advanced CRM segmentation, remarketing strategies, and guest lifecycle programs
  • Lead the evaluation, integration, and optimization of the enterprise marketing technology stack including CRM, analytics platforms, and attribution tools
  • Deliver enterprise-level performance dashboards and reporting that clearly demonstrate marketing contribution to revenue outcomes

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing enterprise marketing organization across corporate and field teams
  • Establish clear performance metrics, accountability frameworks, and development pathways for marketing, PR, CRM, and local marketing leaders
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Culinary, Finance, Development, and HR leadership to ensure brand and revenue alignment
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, commercial strategy, or growth leadership within hospitality, luxury consumer, or multi-unit consumer brands
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise marketing strategies tied to measurable revenue outcomes
  • Strong financial literacy and experience managing multi-million-dollar marketing budgets with ROI accountability
  • Experience supporting multi-market growth, new unit openings, and demand generation strategies
  • Proven leadership ability to build high-performing teams and influence cross-functional executive stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication, strategic planning, and analytical capabilities

Qualifications

Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related discipline.

  • 6-10 years of experience in restaurant marketing with demonstrated success, preferably in restaurant or hospitality sector.

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and media activities.

  • Bold executive leader who has the vision & drive to try new approaches based on a combination of data, experience and instincts.

  • Proven experience developing, inspiring, and activating teams to deliver best in class marketing messaging against key audiences.

  • Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel.

  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.

  • Professional, reliable, enthusiastic, self-reliant, self-motivated, and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with all groups while addressing people courageously, directly, and candidly.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time, and build strong, highly collaborative relationships.

  • Thorough knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics, preferably in a restaurant/hospitality environment.

  • Strong drive for success; continuous learning of new and improved marketing techniques.

  • Excellent business judgment and curiosity of the business environment.

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to effectively communicate to a broad range of audiences, from restaurant personnel to c-level leaders.

  • Strong understanding of creative concepts and storytelling and how to engage consumers.

  • Proven experience in translating a brand vision and strategy into compelling customer communications.

  • Experience developing and leading a comprehensive multi-market, multi-product media and advertising plan for a major consumer brand

  • Understanding of metrics and ROI techniques for measuring media and communication effectiveness.

  • In depth understanding of customer perception and behavior and applying that to move the brand forward.

  • Proven success in developing impactful Social Media acquisition, advertising and community engagement programs.

This role requires

  • Ability to move about freely

  • Travel 50% of the time

  • In office position, traditional working hours, and days (M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

  • Complete position requirements in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to be stationary for extended periods of time in a seated position.
