Job Summary

As a Margin Analyst, you will be responsible for systematically collecting and analyzing relevant pricing and costing information that will lead to credible pricing and margins.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position.

  • Maintain costing on assigned groups of materials.

  • Determine what gaps exist in current reporting and analysis and develop a strategy to obtain missing information.

  • Monitor price/margins within SAP and B/W for all products and classifications.

  • Monitor pricing assumptions and report any potential or real risks and develop a written strategy to mitigate those risks.

  • Monitor expiration dates of price conditions.

  • Monitor price override conditions and provide cross-tabulated analysis of price overrides to market conditions as well as internal practices.

  • Continually review pricing data for the market and project on a timely basis the potential impact associated with the upward or downward trend.

  • Maintain training program for managers and sales people in margin management principles and using pricing tools to maximize profit margin.

  • Working with the training team to ensure that all field and inside sales representatives receive proper training as it relates to pricing within SAP and B/W.

  • Performs other Margin Analyst duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience and education

  • At least 3 years purchasing and planning experience in related industry including:

  • An aptitude for data management

  • Proficiency in MS Office:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to handle several assignments simultaneously.

  • Able to solve problems.

  • Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.

  • Must be a self-starter, detailed oriented, and have the ability to work independently.

  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the company and the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of cost or market pricing experience preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the animal health market preferred.

  • At least 2 years market analysis experience preferred.

  • Presentation and training experience highly desirable.

  • Skills such as Python, SQL, Macros, and Machine Learning 

Working Conditions

Physical Demands

  • Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday

  • May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment

Environmental Factors

  • This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.

Travel and On-call

  • This position has the opportunity for minimal travel (10%) in a regional area.

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.

$60,400.00 - $78,533.33EEO Statement
