Do you have a passion for using advanced market risk management models, data analytics and reporting to measure exposure to market risks? Our Market Risk Internship is a unique opportunity to enhance your knowledge in financial risk management/market risk.

Experience you will gain:

• As part of this internship, you will gain knowledge and experience of FHLB Dallas’ risk management/market risk by working closely (under general supervision) with the Market Risk Department. Assist with providing accurate, reliable and timely measurement of the Bank’s exposure to market risk appropriate to management and policy decisions and Federal Housing Finance Agency regulations.
• Prepare periodic reports and in-depth analyses of the Bank's risk exposure and impacts of tactical and strategic alternatives for managing those exposures. 
• Assist in maintaining the Bank’s income forecast process and framework, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data inputs, EUC applications, modeling processes, and reports.
• Assist with identifying and gathering market information, validating data with multiple independent market sources.
• Assist in optimizing and enhancing existing Power BI reports and datasets to improve performance, scalability, data visualization, and ease of use.
• Research intrabank data to ensure data consistency and perform ad hoc analysis in support of overall risk management strategies. 
• Collaborate with partners in Information Technology, Treasury, Financial Operations, Accounting, Credit, Lending, and other Bank areas to coordinate project assignments and support cross‑functional initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, information technology or related field, with a GPA of 3.25 or better.
• Demonstrated strong conceptual, analytic and information technology skills appropriate to financial risk measurement and related accounting practices.
• Knowledge in VBA, SQL, PowerBI and MS Office Suite, with the ability to develop queries and macros from scratch to automate data manipulation and reporting process. (Emphasis on Excel/VBA automation and PowerBI reporting, with the ability to develop advanced, dynamic Power BI dashboards and reports).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple project assignments.
• 40 hours per week; hours are flexible.
