Summary

SDI’s Director of Marketing will design and operate a formalized marketing function, to drive awareness, buying preference, demand, and qualified leads to strategically grow the firm. The Director will be responsible for inbound, digital, content, and account-based marketing across targeted solution areas, geographies, and acquisitions. The Director will work closely with sales and solutions teams to ensure consistent alignment between service offerings and pursuits and brand positioning, messaging, and supporting content. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative, and passionate about what SDI has to offer its markets, clients, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executives, sales, solutioning, and Delivery Executive teams to uncover insights and strategies to develop and implement marketing and branding strategies for new and existing services
  • Evolve existing SDI go-to-market to incorporate new acquisitions and services, including cloud and emerging technologies
  • Conduct market analysis, customer journey/persona, and positioning/messaging exercises to serve as marketing foundational elements within a corporate marketing plan
  • Establish and manage brand consistency to ensure messaging and voice alignment for SDI
  • Management of corporate contact data to build knowledge of SDI with prospective and existing clients, including ongoing care of list data in CRM with proper segmentation and tracking customer journey
  • Design and execute demand and lead generation/nurturing campaigns across multiple platforms to produce sales-accepted leads to meet company sales goals, including events, webinars, email, digital and social campaigns
  • Oversight of the development, design, and distribution of effective SDI content, including a corporate suite of materials (i.e.: collateral, PowerPoints, white papers, one-sheets, case studies, videos, and proposal templates)
  • Identify key marketing performance metrics and analytics and tracking tools for a monthly and yearly review of the efficacy of digital and traditional marketing, website, social campaigns, and partner programs
  • Development and management of an annual marketing budget and monthly variance review
  • Conduct and internally communicate market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, and consumer trends to executive leadership, solutions, and sales, to keep teams informed of relevant information that may influence and enable emerging priorities of the firm
  • Oversight of external communications and promotion through digital, social and traditional public relations channels
  • Manage marketing activities within SDI partner channel programming, optimizing fund availability
  • Oversee the management of proposal content materials and libraries (i.e., Proposal Library, RFP standard responses, etc.)
  • Oversee professional development of marketing team personnel

Additional Responsibilities

  • Experience in marketing of IT services within the public sector and/or utility sectors
  • Experience in account-based marketing, strategy, and tactics – development through execution, using in-house talent and outside firms
  • Versed in the marketing of digital transformation, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity, professional services, IT consulting, IT infrastructure services
  • Knowledge and experience in supplier diversity programming
  • Experience in partner channel marketing - AWS, MS, ServiceNow partner programs preferred
  • Experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions post-acquisition marketing and communications
  • Well-versed in using SEO and social media strategies
  • Corporate communications experience
  • Experience working in tandem with sales within complex sales pursuits
  • Ability to translate understanding of SDI’s capabilities and the client’s needs into compelling stories
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to write and edit concise marketing copy
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, respect for others, good listening skills, clear writing and thinking skills, and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • High sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balance competing priorities across a broad range of priorities, meet project deadlines and drive tight timelines
  • A self-driven person with a desire to learn quickly and continuously
  • Ability to manage existing business processes, while introducing incremental process improvements to increase organizational efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro)

Requirements

  • 15+ years of B2G (preferred) or B2B marketing experience in professional services and technology
  • 10+ years of marketing experience working in government and/or utility industries
  • 5+ years of sales and business development, preferably in the consulting industry
  • MBA in marketing preferred; B.A. or B.S. degree required
  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation processes and tools
  • Experience in partner channel marketing - AWS, MS, ServiceNow partner programs preferred
  • Advanced organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills
  • Experience leading virtual and on-premise project teams and project environments
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours when necessary
