eComm Channel Merchandiser, Zoro
Role: eCommerce Channel Merchandiser
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL or Chicago, IL

Working closely with the Sr. Manager of Merchandising Strategy, the role will execute merchandising optimizations across the large product assortment on Zoro.com.
Primary Function:
- Execute a variety of category optimizations that improve customer experience and product findability across Zoro.com
- Execute merchandising enhancements on channel landing pages and on-site experiences
- Lead scalable solutions and best practices for primary tools and tactics for Merchandising Team
- Develop custom reports and in-depth analysis to measure task performance, category optimizations and promotional activity
- Help customers effectively and quickly navigate to the right product and solution on Zoro.com
- The role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Merchandising Strategy and will have no direct reports
Principal Responsibilities:
- Actively execute product optimization within prioritized L3 categories – including but not limited to product titles, attribute normalization, variant creation, product categorization
- Optimize channel landing pages including: promotion, media and paid search
- Be a subject matter expert of merchandising tool sets, continuously identify opportunities for improvements and drive scalable solutions within the merchandising team
- Perform SEO research and publishing across prioritized categories
- Analyze category trends and identify key website metrics
- Identify content gaps and work with merchandising managers on acquisition
- Excel in role by providing thought-leadership in PDP enhancements, identifying new scalable merchandising solutions and leading team in both quality and quantity of output
Drives Customer Experience:
- Enhance the customer experience by improving how customers find and buy products from a prioritized set of revenue driving categories
- Drive Sales, conversion, and AOV by improving the presentation of products across the customer’s onsite experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 yrs. experience in eCommerce merchandising
- Intermediate knowledge of creating custom reports in Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or Site Catalyst
- Strong working knowledge and/ or curiosity in using data to drive business decisions
- Motivated and entrepreneurial with a strong understanding of eCommerce business
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Curious mindset with a strong desire to find new ways to improve the customer experience, ask though provoking questions and challenge the status quo
- Ability to invent workarounds or new processes as well as be scrappy in the pursuit of achieving a better customer experience
Preferred but not required:
- Experience in SEM, SEO and onsite search
- Experience with SOLR, Endeca, GroupBy Searchandiser, Google Search Appliance or similar Onsite search engines
