Head of Marketing and Communications
About PerkSpot
We work with many of America’s best employers to bring the best perks and discounts to millions of employees. These exclusive savings are a great recruitment and retention tool that allows their employees to take advantage of unique opportunities and feel great about their company. We help employees from 400 companies like Starbucks, Walgreens, Reddit, Southwest Airlines, McDonald’s and Abbott to save on everything from gym memberships and tickets to electronics, new cars, and travel.
About the Role
This is a new role for us, born out of our growth and a desire to improve the caliber and consistency of communications with our clients and their employees. You will control the way employers and their employees connect with our brand through our products, online marketing efforts, content creation, social media, and offline outreach. This is a hands-on role: contribute tangibly as you also lead strategically.
The actual budgets for campaigns are relatively small, but the campaigns work in concert with the communication channels our clients/employers use to reach with their employees, so a creative grassroots approach will come in handy. We don’t have a big play in social media since most of our programs are privately branded and offered to the employers we represent, but there’s still work to be done, particularly with some of our new initiatives that are coming this year.

- Corporate Communications and Promotion: working with clients to promote programs to their employees

- Online Marketing experience including SEO, SEM and social media
- Editorial, Content Creation and Copywriting proficiency: you will have a good team, but you should be able to lead well
- Public relations experience highly desirable.

Our Company Culture
We’re a team of twenty people working out of our office in Chicago’s downtown River North neighborhood. We dress how we like, stock a good beer selection, boast unlimited vacation days, and house a crazy collection of vintage vinyl. Most of all, we dig good people with lots of energy and enthusiasm. We’re always on the lookout for people that mesh well with the way we work, particularly those who possess the rare blend of being smart, hungry, and humble.
We’re proud of our leadership position in the industry, but we’re committed to doing more – developing better products, reaching more employers, and getting more employees engaged with our platform.
Our company was founded by good people with great vision, and we carry on the work they started. As we enter our tenth year, we’re proud that our company has never grown this fast, operated this well, or had this much to look forward to. We take risks and we don’t always get it right, but we win a lot. Winning together feels great.
The Interview Process
Please submit a resume and cover letter, outlining how your qualifications align with the position. Expect to hear back from us within two days if we feel you’re a good fit. We’ll schedule an initial phone call or in-person meeting. There will be an in-office interview with the executive team and CEO. References will be contacted. Finalist will be back to meet with others on the PerkSpot team. Offer.

We offer complete health and dental insurance, and 401K program, as well as fully-funded disability coverage. We have in-office bike storage and a shower on-site. We offer an open time-off policy. The beer is usually free, and we’re pretty obsessive about our coffee.
