Title: Supplier Marketing Specialist
Reports to: Manager, Supplier Partner Mktg
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL or Chicago, IL

In the past eight years, Zoro has grown from a group of 6 people working out of a 2,000 square foot building, offering fewer than 100,000 products to a group of 400+ working out of a 60,000+ square foot building, offering more than 3,300,000 unique products.
Primary Function:
Newly created role, goal is to become competent in all program leadership and execution areas in order to develop into program owner, continuing to drive growth of supplier funding and participation, execution completeness, and incremental revenue growth.
The Partnership Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Supplier Partnership Marketing Manager in relationship building, fulfillment, execution and overall management of Zoro’s supplier partnerships, and is expected to drive revenue by retaining/renewing and growing partnerships. This individual must possess a passion for building relationships, meeting department and team goals, supporting marketing channel owners in program delivery and serving as liaison between Zoro and the supplier partner community.
Key Areas of the Role:
- Explore and understand each partner’s business and industry, and their goals and objectives for their partnership with Zoro, and work with marketing team to develop compelling integrated marketing campaigns to maximize the partnership value for the partner and Zoro
- Responsible for developing personal and business relationships with all levels of partner contacts and manage partnership communications, including regular meetings, monthly recaps and presentations.
- Further the renewal and partner growth efforts by ensuring the fulfillment of all elements within partnership deals
Program Leadership Development:
- Participate as a key contributor in mid-year development process of 2020 program
- Key input into program execution improvements
- Key role in 2020 program debut in September, and sell-in meetings in September and October
- Owner of specific execution tactics
- Take increasing amount of overall program responsibility in a leadership role, working toward transition for full program ownership
Qualifications:
- Ability to think creatively and “outside of the box” as it pertains to developing marketing and activation campaigns for small, mid and large business partners
- Knowledge of Zoro’s or similar distributor product assortment and categories
- Familiarity with marketing communication channels and tactics
- Project management skills
- Excellent one-on-one and group presentation skills
- Procurement systems operational expertise
- We are looking for people with 1-3 years’ experience; degree preferred
