About the role:

Ottimate is seeking a highly motivated MBA intern to work directly with the Chief Payments Officer on strategic initiatives that leverage Artificial Intelligence to transform how a modern Payments organization operates.

This is not a traditional internship focused on observation or analysis. Over an 8-week engagement (up to 20 hours per week), the selected candidate will be responsible for building scalable solutions that reduce manual work, improve decision-making, and create long-term organizational leverage.

The successful candidate will leave behind tools, frameworks, and AI-enabled assets that continue to drive value long after the internship concludes.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who is equal parts strategist, builder, and technologist.

Preferred Skills

  • Currently pursuing an MBA (or similar graduate business degree)
  • Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and business transformation
  • Experience using Generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to independently structure ambiguous problems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Process mapping and workflow optimization experience
  • Comfort working with data and operational metrics
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward execution

Bonus Skills

  • Prompt engineering
  • No-code automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n)
  • Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
  • SQL or Python (helpful but not required)
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or SaaS

Potential Projects

Depending on organizational priorities, the intern may work on initiatives such as:

  • Build an AI-powered Payments Knowledge Assistant for internal teams
  • Develop AI playbooks for customer onboarding and VendorPay adoption
  • Create an intelligent SOP and documentation framework
  • Design decision-support tools for Payment Operations leadership
  • Map operational processes and identify automation opportunities
  • Develop AI workflows that reduce repetitive manual work
  • Build executive dashboards and strategic reporting tools
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend implementation strategies

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the internship, the candidate will have created tangible assets that improve how the Payments organization operates, including:

  • AI-enabled workflows
  • Reusable knowledge bases
  • Process improvements
  • Strategic recommendations
  • Executive-ready presentations
  • Operational frameworks that increase scalability and reduce dependency on manual effort

Our Philosophy

We believe the best organizations do not simply add people—they build better systems.

Our team is efficient, yet curious, constantly asking:

  • Can AI solve this?
  • Can the process be simplified?
  • Can we build something that scales?

If those questions excite you, we’d love to hear from you.

Benefits

Ottimate is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability status, or marital status. If you are excited about the role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. Nothing in this job posting should be construed as an offer or guarantee of employment.
