What You'll Be Doing

The MD, Treasury Management, Payments Products is a senior leadership position that guides the overall strategy, development, and management of payment products within the Treasury Management business. The role is accountable for overseeing the entire lifecycle of payment solutions, ensuring they meet client needs, comply with regulatory standards, and support the bank’s strategic objectives. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, the Head of Payments Products delivers innovative, secure, and scalable payment offerings that enhance the client experience and drive business growth.

Who You Are

Product Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for payment products, including ACH, wire transfers, RTP, card solutions, and emerging payment technologies.

  • Lead product innovation by utilizing market insights and client feedback to identify opportunities for new products and enhancements.

Product Management

  • Oversee the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, including requirements gathering, design, development, pricing, positioning, and commercialization.

  • Manage ongoing product performance to ensure competitive differentiation and profitability.

  • Maintain a current knowledge of treasury management products, relevant policies and legislation, industry and technology trends, competitive positioning and competitor offerings.

Regulatory & Risk Management

  • Ensure payment products comply with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal risk policies.

  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams to monitor regulatory changes and proactively address potential impacts.

Client Experience & Engagement

  • Promote client-centric design and delivery of payment solutions, emphasizing usability, reliability, and value.

  • Ensure client needs are being proactively and thoroughly assessed and that proposed products/solutions are designed to best meet those needs and the client’s broader business objectives. Identify market trends, competitive threats and product opportunities to drive innovation and differentiation. 

  • Work closely with clients, sales, and relationship managers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Commercial Banking (or other business segments) RMs, TM Sales Advisory, Technology and Operations to ensure treasury management capabilities support client needs and the bank’s broader balance sheet strategy.

  • Represent Treasury Management in internal and external forums, advocating for payment product capabilities.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • More than 10 years of experience in payments product management, treasury management, or relevant financial services roles.

  • Proven leadership in developing and managing payment solutions within a large financial institution.

  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, industry trends, regulatory environment, and risk considerations.

  • Ability to drive product strategy, innovation, and commercialization.

  • Exceptional skills in communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $150,000 - 189,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
