We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer  to support the design and implementation of automated material handling systems. This is a hands-on role that spans the full project lifecycle—from concept and design to installation and commissioning. You’ll work on a variety of projects, from small components to large-scale conveyor systems, while learning from experienced engineers and growing your technical skills.

What you will do:    

  • Assist in designing and implementing automated material handling systems based on customer needs
  • Support feasibility assessments for new product integrations, considering cost and timelines
  • Apply sound engineering practices and collaborate with vendors to develop creative solutions
  • Help manage multiple projects, including scheduling and coordination
  • Provide technical support to Account Managers during business development efforts
  • Create detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications
  • Participate in on-site installations, including testing, debugging, and training
  • Maintain project documentation such as procedures, maintenance plans, and parts lists
  • Troubleshoot issues using root cause analysis and support corrective actions

 What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 1-2 years of experience with automated machinery (e.g., conveyors, robotics, PLCs)
  • Familiarity with systems such as Hytrol, SpanTech, Cognex, and FANUC is a plus
  • Strong mechanical design and troubleshooting skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 35–40%
  • Candidates would be based in our Willowbrook, IL office
