hatch I.T. is partnering with VanishID to find a Mid-Level Mobile Engineer. Please see details below:

About the Company

VanishID is growing, and they want someone to join their mission to keep people and enterprises safe. They are adding a Mobile Engineer to their team who will own their mobile app end-to-end. This person will partner closely with their product, design, and security teams to bring our Command Center experience to mobile and build the things only a phone can do, from push alerts on exposure events to protection against smishing and intercepted verification codes. This role will report to the VP of Engineering.

This is a unique opportunity to join them at this early stage where you will feel the impact of your work every day and have an open runway for growth. They are a remote-first company and are open to candidates throughout the United States. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and ship our mobile app: Get real builds into clients' hands through TestFlight, at parity with our web dashboard's individual view for protection status, family coverage, and reports.
  • Set the technical foundation: Work with our web and security leads to shape the app's architecture and determine how much of the existing codebase and design system carries over.
  • Build for the moments that matter: Wire up push notifications end to end, so an exposure event reaches a client as an alert they can act on in one tap.
  • Absorb anti-smishing into the app: Fold our standalone smishing and verification-code protection into the app.
  • Own releases and reliability: Stand up the build, release, and crash-reporting pipeline.
  • Partner across the team: Work directly with product, design, and security to turn goals into shipped features.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years building mobile apps: You've shipped and maintained apps that real people used, through the App Store and TestFlight.
  • Native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) depth: You've built and shipped native mobile apps and know the platform well beyond a cross-platform wrapper.
  • Production mobile experience: You've handled push notifications, background tasks, and the parts of mobile that break in the field, not just the happy path.
  • Ownership mentality: You're comfortable owning a codebase from architecture to releases to testing, and you write down the decisions behind it.
  • Security-minded engineering: You handle sensitive data carefully and treat security as part of the build, not a review at the end.

Nice to have:

  • React Native / Expo experience.
  • Experience with device security signals, MDM, or integrations like password managers and identity verification tools
  • Comfortable making product and UX/UI decisions
  • Familiarity with build and distribution infrastructure for internal iOS applications
  • Background sharing a web and mobile codebase and knowing where that gets hard
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
