WHY BOX NEEDS YOU 

The Solutions Engineering Team at Box includes solutions engineers, value engineering, platform solution engineering, enterprise architects, and demo engineering.  As a Solutions Engineer, you are empowered to sell to business and IT leaders in every space and vertical, and take ownership in crafting customer-centric solutions. You will work alongside the account team to define and expand revenue opportunities, and ensure the solution is ready for cross company deployments.  You also act as a critical liaison between Sales and Product; sharing customer feedback with the Product Management, Operations and Engineering functions at Box. Do you want to tinker, whiteboard, brainstorm and figure out how things work? Our highest performers develop deep knowledge of the Box platform, and are capable of leading presentations related to the Box security story, technical architecture and product configuration. 

This role is supporting clients in US Public Sector - to expand our footprint and break into new accounts.  Are you curious, passionate about problem-solving and love working with leading-edge technology?  Then we want to talk to you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • You research, explore and identify customer business problems

  • You own the technical win for the lifecycle of the customer

  • You serve as a subject matter expert across multiple industries

  • You take responsibility for driving the technical deal forward

  • You understand product integrations, including Salesforce, Google, Office365

  • You lead demos articulating the value of Box selling the full suite of solutions (BoxAI, Box Web, Mobile, Shield, Relay, Sign, Governance, Canvas, Platform, and more)
  • You support field marketing events as a Box SME and presenter

  • Travel up to 50% to engage with customers 

WHO YOU ARE

  • 4 year degree or equivalent work experience required

  • 5+ years of Enterprise Field Solutions Engineer experience or relevant technical, customer facing experience

  • Experience with SLED and Federal accounts required from a pre-sales motion; strong knowledge of FedRAMP authorization process and other compliance frameworks impacting SaaS vendors serving the public sector.

  • Knowledge of government procurement cycles, RFP/RFI processes, and contract vehicles (e.g., GSA schedules)

  • Familiarity with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, tools, and how they integrate into enterprise solutions

  • Familiarity with strategic partnerships or subcontractor relationships often used in public sector engagements.

  • Awareness of specific use cases such as citizen services modernization, secure document sharing across agencies, education collaboration needs etc.

  • Quickly grasp complex technical concepts related to Box’s solutions, especially our offerings, and clearly articulate their business value to drive informed decision-making.

  • Demonstrates creativity in designing tailored solutions that address unique challenges faced by public sector customers, leveraging Box’s capabilities to maximize impact.

  • You’re AI-curious and technically fluent — comfortable discussing LLMs, embeddings, automation, and context and prompt engineering concepts with both technical and business audiences

  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to establish trust across a range of technical and non-technical audiences; passionate about showing, not just telling and designing demos and narratives that make the power of Box AI tangible

  • Expertly build trust and rapport with diverse audiences, including both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders within the public sector.

  • Track record of meeting/exceeding KPIs such as deal velocity acceleration through technical enablement or increased adoption rates via solution demonstrations.
