All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

JerseySTEM is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to offering innovative opportunities and bridging the gender gap in STEM education for children in New Jersey’s underserved communities. We are dedicated to partnering with local schools, parents, and educators to create and enhance STEM-oriented educational opportunities for students in grades 5-8 as part of their paths towards college and career readiness. We provide free after-school, project-based, and hands-on structured programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Responsibilities
Create and manage content for JerseySTEM’s social media channels, including, but not limited to, Linkedin, Instagram and Facebook
Develop content calendars, including image sourcing and copywriting
Lead community management and engage with followers on social media platforms
Find new content and engagement opportunities by staying in tune with the always-evolving topic of STEM education, Volunteerism, Corporate Social Responsibility
Analytics reporting
Research and discovery of influencer/brand partnership opportunities for clients
Qualifications
1-2 years of related professional experience, with an emphasis on social media strategy, content creation and community engagement
Impressive copywriting and visual skills
Master of organization, strong multitasking skills
Familiarity with Google tools, including Doc, Slide, Sheet, hangout.
Advanced skill level in apps such as Canva, including Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop is a bonus
Diligent work ethic, an eye for art/design, and an insatiable desire to learn and excel
5-10 hours weekly (average)
Position will be remote
This is a pro-bono volunteer position.
