The Communications Production Specialist supports the execution and delivery of provider communications across email, portal, web, and print channels. This role is responsible for building, publishing, reviewing, and distributing communications while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to approved content, brand, and regulatory standards.
This role supports a high-volume provider communications function responsible for delivering more than 1,300 communications annually across email, portal, web, print, and enterprise initiatives. The Communications Production Specialist provides dedicated production support to improve execution efficiency, reduce single-point dependency risk, and ensure continuity during periods of peak workload and employee absences.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build, publish, and deploy provider communications across email, portal, web, and print communication channels
  • Execute communication production activities including formatting, audience segmentation, deployment, and post-launch validation
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure communications are accurate, functional, and aligned with approved messaging and communication standards
  • Support publication of Optum Pro news articles, portal alerts, provider emails, newsletters, administrative guides, and other provider-facing communications
  • Maintain communication templates, distribution lists, audience segments, production schedules, and communication assets
  • Coordinate production activities with writers, project managers, stakeholders, and digital channel owners
  • Monitor deployments and assist with identifying and resolving production issues
  • Support communication tracking, reporting, and documentation of production activities
  • Maintain workflow visibility and production status updates using Kanban boards or other workflow management tools
  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, consistency, and scalability
  • Provide backup support for time-sensitive communication initiatives and production activities
  • Support execution of provider contracting mailings, provider administrative guide publication activities, and other high-volume communication deployments

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of communications operations, digital production, marketing operations, content management, or related experience
  • Experience supporting communication deployment across multiple channels
  • Experience utilizing Kanban boards, workflow management platforms, or similar project-tracking tools
  • Experience working within structured workflows and meeting recurring deadlines
  • Solid attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including tracking, reporting, and management of production activities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare, payer, provider, or related industry experience
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, content management systems, and digital communication technologies
  • Experience supporting high-volume, deadline-driven communication programs
  • Experience maintaining audience lists, communication schedules, and production calendars
  • Experience using workflow management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Planner, Trello, or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting enterprise communication or change management initiatives
  • Knowledge of communication production, quality assurance, and digital publishing best practices

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
