About Mending

Mending is a team of healthcare nerds, software engineers, product designers, direct primary care doctors, health technology operators, and more. Our mission is to craft better health by accelerating the future of care.

Today, our products focus on Direct Primary Care (DPC). We build the technology and infrastructure that helps employers, health plans, TPAs, brokers, and DPC practices work together at scale. Our data platform integrates DPC into health plans in ways that lower costs, improve access, and deliver better outcomes for members. In doing so, we bring more patients into DPC practices while preserving what makes the model work.

Our aspirations for this role

Mending is seeking a high-energy, growth-minded individual to serve as the face and engine of our DPC network expansion efforts. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with the team to aggressively scale our network of Direct Primary Care (DPC) partners. There is massive green space to operate independently and creatively. You should be insanely curious and have tons of grit. You will be tasked with identifying prospective practices, initiating early relationships, and accelerating our footprint in key expansion markets. You should gain energy by talking to people all day.

In addition to market mapping and prospecting, you will serve as the first impression of Mending to prospective providers. If you are thrilled by the prospect of building a network from scratch, translating market feedback into growth strategies, and supporting massive organizational scale, this role is built for you.

Let’s dive into the details

As the Senior Associate on the Network team, you will be responsible for executing the top-of-funnel strategy to bring new DPC practices into our ecosystem. Your primary areas of focus include:

  • Drive DPC Acquisition: Own and manage the pipeline for prospective DPC practices across target markets. Detect, map, and prioritize clinical prospects to consistently expand the funnel.

  • Be the Growth Engine: Conduct outbound engagement strategies, pitch the Mending model to physicians and practice managers, and clearly articulate how our technology aligns with and supports direct primary care.

  • Green Space Strategy: Partner with the team to evaluate and define new geographic markets, analyzing provider density, regional demand, and potential employee presence to maximize footprint readiness.

  • Voice of the Market: Systematically capture objections and feedback from potential provider partners to refine Mending's value proposition, working closely with teams to enhance network technology features.

  • Travel: Spend time in expansion territories to establish a physical presence, tour provider practices, and build authentic regional relationships (travel up to ~10-20%).

Before you apply

This role is about building partnerships directly with individual DPC providers and practice managers. If you’ve never personally owned that type of relationship before, this isn’t the right role for you. We are not looking for health system partnerships, payer contracting, or B2B targeting MSOs. We’re looking for someone who has sat across from a provider and brought them across the line.

Experience that excites us

We are looking for an action-oriented professional who thrives in ambiguous environments and loves the challenge of hitting ambitious scaling targets. Ideal candidates will bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in healthcare business development, provider relations, growth operations, medical sales, or client-facing tech startup roles.

  • A builder mindset you are highly comfortable starting from a blank page, navigating green space ambiguity, and pushing through "no" to find creative alignment. Grit is our favorite word!

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to build rapport with busy medical professionals and break down complex concepts and ideas cleanly.

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, pipeline tracking metrics, and basic data synthesis to keep the growth engine visible, disciplined, and predictable.

Salary Range*: $70,000 - $95,000 + annual bonus tied to network growth
*Subject to location and experience

You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status
