Network Operations Specialist / Network Infrastructure Lead
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, and network transport devices (Cisco IOS-XE/NEXUS)
- Implement firewall and proxy rule changes
- Support critical service restoration during contingencies, prioritizing SIPRNet secure communications
- Perform diagnostic isolation at service seams with enterprise providers (RNECs, DISA) and deliver fault-attribution reports
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records
Education & Experience
- 5+ years of enterprise network administration (routing, switching, firewalls/proxies) in a DoD or comparable environment
- DoDM 8140.03 foundational qualification prior to start; Residential Qualification for privileged access
- Familiarity with DISA connection approval processes
Certifications
- DCWF Work Role 511 - Network Operations Specialist, Intermediate proficiency. Common qualifying certifications: CCNA or Network+ plus Security+
- Advanced networking certification (e.g., CCNP)
Security Clearance
- Secret clearance
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)
- Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Mission Essential on-site reporting during contingencies.
