Fox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

WFLD FOX Chicago needs a dynamic, energetic, and innovative producer to join our team and become part of a media company with a start-up mentality and approach. We are looking for someone with a keen intellect who is curious about the world around them. We are less focused on writing scripts and more focused on developing engaging conversational streaming concepts. You need to have a sense of timing for when a conversation should continue or be cut short. Quickly think of probing questions and have a sense for what interests Chicago audiences.

You must be willing to take risks and cannot be afraid to fail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and gather ideas for local Chicago stories that matter to our community.
  • Source video content with manage editing workflows.
  • Utilize your strong writing skills to craft compelling, unique content for our digital and linear stream.
  • Ensure the newscast runs smoothly while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Help us to reach and engage users on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat and the next platforms that emerge.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a producing role essential.
  • Experience line producing is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing and publishing content, including news, on digital and social platforms is a must
  • Proficiency on and quick study on various software platforms
  • Originality and creativity in presentation and delivery.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage tight deadlines and respond well to direction.
  • Outstanding news judgment and commitment to factual accuracy.
  • Must be reliable and willing to work flexible working hours

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $82,000.00-90,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
