About Attain

Built for consumers and companies, alike. In a world driven by data, we believe consumers and businesses can coexist. Our founders had a vision to empower consumers to leverage their greatest asset—their data—in exchange for modern financial services. Built with this vision in mind, our platform allows consumers to access savings tools, earned wages and rewards without cost or hidden fees. In exchange, they give permission to use their real-time data for research, insights and targeted advertising.

At Attain, your contribution will help us build a more equitable and efficient data sharing ecosystem—whether helping consumers access modern financial services or businesses leverage data to achieve better outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with hands-on leaders and mission-driven individuals everyday.

About the Role

Attain is looking for an organized, employee-oriented Office Administrator & People Partner to support our People Operations team and help keep our Chicago office running smoothly. You'll wear two hats: supporting the employee experience through onboarding, benefits, and administrative tasks, and keeping our office operations comfortable and efficient.

In this role, you'll help coordinate new hire onboarding, assist with benefits administration, maintain employee records, support compliance activities, manage office supplies and lunch ordering, and be a friendly point of contact for employee questions. You'll work closely with People Operations, Finance, and employees to ensure everyone has what they need to do their best work.

The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented, with strong people skills. You're proactive, reliable, and good at juggling multiple priorities. You handle sensitive information with discretion and take pride in making the office a great place to work.

This role will be based out of our office in Chicago, IL and require in-person work on a hybrid schedule (4-days per week in office). We are currently targeting talent that’s based in the Chicago area and not offering relocation at this time. Thank you for understanding!

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, administration, or office operations
  • Familiarity with benefits administration (health insurance, FSAs, HSAs)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort handling confidential employee information
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms) and Slack
  • Experience with HRIS platforms or HR systems a plus
  • Friendly, reliable, and people-oriented
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

What a Typical Week Might Look Like

  • Assist with new hire onboarding: prepare welcome materials, set up employee records, coordinate first-day logistics and I-9 process
  • Coordinate new hire orientation including presenting HR-specific new hire materials and scheduling and coordinating new hire meetings with other presenters and employees
  • Answer employee questions about benefits, payroll, HR policies, and office operations
  • Process employee requests like address changes, beneficiary updates, and new hire paperwork
  • Support benefits enrollment during open enrollment periods (FSAs, HSAs, health insurance)
  • Help coordinate offboarding when employees leave
  • Manage office pantry: order and restock coffee, beverages, snacks, and supplies
  • Coordinate weekly office lunches: communicate options, collect orders, manage delivery
  • Handle office supplies, equipment, and company swag ordering
  • Support office events and team outings
  • Assist People Operations team with administrative tasks and compliance-related communications

At the End of Your First Year, You'll Have Helped Us

  • Become the go-to person for employee questions and requests—building relationships across the company
  • Create smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences that make employees feel welcomed and supported
  • Establish reliable office operations where supplies are stocked, lunches are coordinated, and the space runs efficiently
  • Support compliance and benefits activities confidently and accurately
  • Build processes and documentation that help the People Operations team work more smoothly
  • Make our Chicago office a great place to work
