About Onebrief

Onebrief is collaboration and AI-powered workflow software designed specifically for military staffs. By transforming this work, Onebrief makes the staff as a whole superhuman - meaning faster, smarter, and more efficient.

We take ownership, seek excellence, and play to win with the seriousness and camaraderie of an Olympic team. Onebrief operates as an all-remote company, though many of our employees work alongside our customers at military commands around the world.

Founded in 2019 by a group of experienced planners, today, Onebrief’s team spans veterans from all forces and global organizations, and technologists from leading-edge software companies. We’ve raised $123m+ from top-tier investors, including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, Insight Partners, and Human Capital, and today, Onebrief is valued at $1.1B. With this continued growth, Onebrief is able to make an impact where it matters most.

About the role

As Onebrief scales rapidly as a high-growth startup, we’re looking for a strategic operator to own and scale our onboarding program across all teams and departments. Many core pieces are already in place; your job is to turn those into a coherent, repeatable program that gives every new hire a clear, consistent experience throughout their first 90 days, when support and connection matter most.

You’ll be responsible for both the design of the program and its day-to-day execution - turning ideas into concrete plans, schedules, and workflows. You’ll work closely with hiring managers, People Ops, IT, Security, and leaders across our remote-first, fully distributed company spanning many time zones. The role may include periodic travel for live onboarding sessions or in-person orientations.

About You

You are a systems thinker with strong operator instincts. You enjoy designing programs and frameworks, and you’re comfortable being the person who makes sure they actually happen. You move easily between high-level questions (What should onboarding look like at scale here?) and practical details (Does this hire have access to the right tools before their first meeting?).

You thrive in high-growth, fast-changing environments and bring structure and clarity where things are ambiguous. You’re proactive, organized, and reliable; stakeholders trust you to keep cross-functional onboarding workflows running smoothly without overcomplicating them. You care about the human side of onboarding - how quickly people ramp, how connected they feel, and how well they understand the company - and you’re thoughtful about how to maintain a high bar for operational excellence in a remote, multi–time zone environment.

What you'll do
  • Lead and continuously improve the onboarding program for a remote-first, globally distributed team

  • Coordinate core onboarding activities: orientation schedules, key communications, and cross-functional workflows

  • Partner with hiring managers to create clear, role-specific onboarding plans and expectations across departments

  • Host or facilitate virtual onboarding sessions and support periodic in-person live sessions

  • Maintain and refine onboarding resources (guides, checklists, FAQs) so new hires can ramp quickly and independently

  • Use HR tools and systems to streamline and, where possible, automate onboarding steps and communications

  • Gather feedback and track onboarding metrics to identify what’s working and where to improve

  • Help design a program that can scale and eventually be supported by additional operators as the company grows

What we look for
  • Around 5 years of experience in onboarding, people operations, program management, or similar roles

  • Experience both improving existing programs and running them reliably day-to-day

  • Experience supporting onboarding or people operations in a high-growth startup or similarly fast-scaling environment

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; you keep moving pieces aligned without over-engineering

  • Excellent written and verbal communication across time zones and async channels

  • Comfort using or learning common HR and collaboration tools, and using them to make workflows more efficient

  • Comfort with rapid growth, evolving needs, and building just enough structure at the right time
