About the Role

Anchor Utility Company is looking for a Client Onboarding Specialist to help multifamily clients launch services such as Resident Billing, Utility Expense Management, and Vacant Cost Recovery. You’ll guide assigned properties from kickoff through setup in our billing platform, First Time Billing, client approval, and handoff to Operations.

You’ll be a primary point of contact for clients during onboarding. This role is a good fit if you enjoy working with clients, keeping several projects moving at once, and catching details that could affect a resident’s first bill.

What You’ll Do
  • Set expectations at kickoff, request required information, and keep clients informed about progress, next steps, and delays.

  • Manage multiple property implementations at once. Track milestones and deadlines, follow up on open items, and escalate issues that could delay launch or first billing.

  • Configure properties in our billing platform using client requirements, utility billing methods, supporting documentation, and applicable billing guidelines.

  • Coordinate First Time Billing, review results for accuracy, work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, and obtain client approval.

  • Hand off each property to Operations with approved billing, complete documentation, and a clear record of any open items.

  • Partner with Client Engagement, Operations, Accounting, Meter Solutions, and other teams to resolve issues, document processes, and improve how we onboard properties.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • Prior experience in utility billing, property management, multifamily housing, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain billing or setup steps clearly to clients and internal teams.

  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once.

  • Proactive follow-through and accountability for assigned work.

  • Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, including knowing when to escalate an issue.

  • Comfort learning new software, systems, and processes.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with resident utility billing or utility expense management.

  • Familiarity with ratio utility billing systems (RUBS), submetering, direct-billed utilities, or utility billing regulations.

  • Experience with property management platforms such as Yardi, Entrata, or AppFolio.

  • Experience in client onboarding, implementation, or account management.

  • Experience reviewing utility invoices, billing reports, or financial documentation.

Why Join Us?
  • Competitive pay and a benefits package.
  • A collaborative team that works across departments to help clients launch services successfully.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills in client implementation, multifamily utility billing, and project coordination.
How to Apply

Apply through Anchor Utility Company’s online employment application. We look forward to learning about your experience and how you’ve helped clients or properties through a successful transition.
