Operations & Production Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Akron, OH (100% Onsite) 

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000/year, DOE

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM 

Relocation: Considered for the right candidate; local preferred

About Our Client

Our client is a small, privately owned and growing metal plating manufacturer in Akron, OH. They're seeking a hands-on Operations & Production Manager to lead the Akron facility day-to-day — owning the shop floor, keeping jobs moving, holding the team accountable, and driving quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations and lead the ~9-person team
  • Manage six job-shop production lines and a rotating production mix
  • Run a first-in/first-out workflow via production board and Excel; set priorities and keep jobs moving
  • Manage staffing, workflow, throughput, quality, documentation, and on-time delivery
  • Hold employees accountable for procedures and documentation
  • Ensure quality expectations and customer specs are consistently met
  • Troubleshoot production and process issues; coordinate maintenance and preventative maintenance
  • Partner with the Office Manager/quality-manufacturing function and leadership
  • Maintain a safe, organized shop and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

Experience: ~2–3+ years of hands-on plating/electroplating experience strongly preferred but not required. Strong manufacturing, machine operations, production, or operations management experience in a technical/process-driven environment also considered.
