Job Summary
The Operations Support Specialist assists the recovery team by performing a variety of operational and administrative duties. This role requires an intermediate understanding of the subrogation process and supports key functions such as data entry, document processing, and case creation. Responsibilities include sorting and scanning incoming correspondence, reviewing claims, and creating new subrogation cases to support recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Complete data entry and create new subrogation cases
Review claims and supporting documentation
Retrieve, image, and prioritize daily incoming mail
Perform ISO Index searches and identify accidents for referral to Subrogation Specialists
Generate and process IQ batches with guidance from the Subrogation Business Analyst
Obtain information such as claims and plan documents from client remote systems
Process outgoing and certified mail
Manage incoming emails, faxes, and voicemails within the Discovery Case Management system
Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements
Demonstrate company core competencies and values
Handle PHI-sensitive data; this role is classified as a High Risk Role
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Scope
The incumbent prioritizes the needs of both internal and external customers when making decisions and taking action. This role follows established guidelines, policies, and procedures, with limited exercise of independent judgment. Accurate and timely processing of claim documents and requests directly impacts company revenue and client savings.
Compensation
The salary for this position starts at $19.50/hour. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographic location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401(k), and bonus opportunity.
Preferred QualificationsJob Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; 1+ years of experience in an office environment preferred, with medical claims experience strongly preferred
Typing proficiency of at least 45 words per minute
Ability to ask effective questions to gather necessary information
Basic knowledge of computers and scanning equipment
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools
Required licensures, certifications, or board certifications as applicable
Ability to work in a standard office environment, including extended periods of sitting and working on a computer, and operating standard office equipment (keyboard, copier, telephone, etc.)
