What You Do:

Uptake’s Account Managers lead all aspects of customer relationship management activities for their assigned accounts. You will work in close collaboration with Uptake Energy leadership and technology teams to define and create a world-class customer experience and maximize value for Uptake customers, leading to renewals and increased revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, iterate, and execute on strategic and tactical account plans for customers
  • Collaborate with Uptake technology teams to curate a world-class customer experience throughout the lifecycle of a post-sale relationship
  • Own and improve customer renewal and account expansion, including identifying new high-value business opportunities with Uptake customers
  • Define, improve, and demonstrate business value for clients; work with Uptake technology teams and internal industry experts to ensure customers realize maximum business value from Uptake products
  • Manage partner expectations throughout the lifecycle of each engagement, and collaborate closely with Uptake marketing teams on case studies and other public communication of information related to the relationship
  • Work closely with deployment and implementation leads to manage all internal and external meetings, and create collateral related to account-facing activities
  • Ensure CRM systems are regularly updated for operational readiness on accounts, and to provide relevant information to Uptake leadership and technology teams
  • Monitor compliance with contract provisions, informing internal stakeholders of identified risks and developing mitigation strategies to anticipate and address customer concerns

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be an independent thinker comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a rapidly expanding technology organization.

Required:

  • At least 5 years experience in the Energy industry, including operational and/or account management experience and facility with CRM systems
  • A collaborative mindset, and a record of building successful relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Driven self-starter with strong project management and presentation skills, and ability to manage multiple workstreams under minimal supervision and strict customer deadlines
  • Problem solver with strong analytical ability and excellent business judgment, and the ability to learn new concepts and domains quickly

Preferred:

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including around complex concepts
  • Comfort with ambiguity and able to adapt to the changing requirements of a growth company
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, sense of humor, and the passion to help create the energy system of the future
  • Experience in the wind power and software industries highly desirable

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
