ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Chief of Staff’s (CoS) primary charge is to provide cohesion across the leadership team by filling in strategic and/or tactical gaps, promoting effective communication, and ensuring alignment on strategic priorities, key decisions and business risks. In addition, the CoS will be instrumental in helping to think through, model and communicate the strategic and tactical efforts related to the M&A initiative led by the CEO. The goal is to allow the CEO to continue to be active and aware across many initiatives, yet not see key ideas / information sharing or to-do’s fall between the cracks.

As a highly impactful communicator and problem solver, the CoS will help identify and leverage key metrics and insights to inform strategic decisions and priorities, which will help to direct the next set of company initiatives. Designed to evolve as the company grows, the role may be rotational and the CoS may rotate into a specific functional role based on area of interest and ability to succeed, and another top-talented individual in or outside the Company will rotate into the CoS role.

What, specifically, does the CoS do?

      • Maintain a cadence of updates to the corporate goals and ensure the executive team does as well.
    • Monitor progress of key initiatives and priorities by meeting regularly with managers to track results and challenges; ensure that company commitments and priorities are being executed, that issues are being raised and dealt with and that the right level of information is being shared between the CEO and senior management team.
    • Shift from high-level strategic thinking to stepping in and helping to drive implementation alongside functional teams when needed.
    • Work with CFO to support financial and operating planning efforts in conjunction with company strategy.
    • Provide decision support through research, analysis of information, and clear presentation of considerations.
      • Including related to near term M&A strategy.
