College Advisor
Cappex is launching a new service to provide high-quality advising services to college-bound students across the country via a technology enabled solution. We are looking for a College Advisor to join our team in a full-time capacity to help deliver an amazing experience to students and parents as they go through the college application process.
Job Responsibilities
- Advise students and families on all aspects of the college admissions process
- Continually improve and expand a knowledge base with resources to support students and parents in preparing for college
- Proactively support new service features and improvements by creating actionable insights from student and parent interactions
Requirements
- Experience working with students and their parents in an educational capacity
- Counseling experience preferred, but not required. Preferred experience includes guiding students through all parts of the admissions process, including planning their admissions journey, creating a college list, developing their personal statement, reviewing their application, and providing guidance on financial aid.
- A dynamic individual with an enthusiasm for helping students and parents
- Excellent customer service skills and great on the phone
- An operational lens to the world--always looking to make processes better and more efficient
- A creative person excited to help build something new
- Comfortable with uncertainty and change
- A roll-up their sleeves / hands-on approach, and natural desire to get stuff done
- Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well with different technology platforms
- A flexible schedule--there will be times during the busy season where the expectation is to work more than 40 hours per week, and nights and weekends might be required based on student/parent availability.
- Bachelor's degree required
