Role: Helpline Supervisor (Full-Time, Permanent)

Start: Immediately

Reports To: Social Care Manager 

Location: Temporarily Remote + Local Travel

About the Role:

CareAdvisors is looking  for a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician  to join our growing team. In this role you will support our Social Care Team in ensuring that our stakeholders’ members are treated with empathy and compassion as we work toward a better quality of life. The best fit for the role will have deep knowledge of the social service benefits space and you come with a few years of experience in a behavioral health clinician role.

 

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Worker or a related Human Services field

  • Bilingual - Spanish preferred

  • 2+ years of experience working in a crisis call center (preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience working in crisis management with the youth and adults

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies (CPI)

  • Must demonstrate an ability to advocate for clients with mental illness.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

  • Must obtain and maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers OR the American Red Cross' CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.

  • Professional oral, written, and telephone communication skills.

  • On-Call Hours may be required

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis interventions service to de-escalate situations 

  • Provide understanding and support, including active listening, addressing needs, and problem solving.

  • Motivate and lead the team to create and maintain a positive environment while setting and adhering to high standards in work ethic and performance

  • Assist in clinical screenings for AHHN members.

  • Give clinical direction to the Helpline team

  • Assist in triaging high acuity patients

  • Supervise helpline staff during outreach

  • Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.

  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.

  • Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.

  • Some local travel to local partner sites such as hospital partners or community-based organizations partners (once it is safe to do again) 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Case Management Responsibilities:

  • Establish rapport and provide individualized, engaging support for those in need of assistance eliminating identified barriers to living healthy and fulfilling lives.

  • Provide case management services which coordinate, support, and advocate for clients who need multiple services and require assistance in gaining access to and in using mental health, social, vocational, educational, child welfare, and other community services and resources

  • Maintain patient records in accordance with regulations, policies, and established practices.

  • Meet with families either face-to-face or via telehealth to conduct annual health needs assessments 

  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with clinical directors in order to communicate with them regarding patients and scheduling

  • Become familiar with organizations in the Belmont-Cragin (Chicago zip code 60639) community and act as a liaison to organizations to assist them with getting clients/families to complete the annual needs assessment

  • Serve as on-call clinician, with weekday, weekend, and back-up duties.

  • Take patient crisis calls in a professional manner and according to company standards.

  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes to document all member encounters.

  • Provide over the phone, or in-person crisis intervention services to youth and families in crises as needed

  • Be able to drive to member homes or appointments when appropriate.

  • Must be willing to work evenings/weekend hours as necessary and be on call to respond to emergencies.

  • Report incidents to state and supervisory agencies when appropriate.
