The Opportunity:
As a Investment Manager you have the unique opportunity to utilize your passion in theater, concerts & live entertainment and apply that knowledge within your career. You will be a vital part of the Investment team seeking opportunities to expand and manage our company’s ticketing partnerships.
 
In this role you’ll keep a close pulse on the theater & live entertainment industries to see how external factors have driven secondary market trends. You’ll expand our business by seeking valuable opportunities in which we can make our marketplace more vibrant, more liquid and more successful. You will add growth by analyzing market data, forecasting performance, setting goals, developing business processes and delegating work. You will manage a portfolio by accurately pricing tickets, minimizing our company’s risk and maximizing its profits.

This will require the ability to react quickly to the ever-changing live marketplace no matter the time, place or situation. Imagine an A-list star announcing their return to Broadway, the biggest musical productions going on a world tour or the most popular music acts bidding farewell to live performances – you’ll analyze demand and secure inventory, providing robust purchasing options for our marketplace customers.  

 How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:  

  • Boosts company growth and adds marketplace liquidity by procuring profitable investment opportunities
  • Leverages market data into actionable insights and opportunities to improve business performance
  • Maximizes revenue and minimizes risks of certain assets acquired through the company’s various partnerships
  • Provides company key insights into market behavior by transferring supply-side knowledge and helping to forecast demand
  • Connects buyer with seller by ensuring our listings are maximally exposed and 100% accurate

How your role expectations will progress as a Portfolio Manager in the first 30, 60, and 120 days:  

30 days in  

  • Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful
  • Learn how our ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers
  • Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values
  • Shadow Portfolio Managers to absorb our department’s business processes, pricing theorems and strategies
  • Build a foundation of knowledge regarding departmental processes by actively participating in team calendar events
  • Begin managing existing partnership assets to acquire familiarity with live market behavior
  • Monitor sales data and market trends to provide a foundation of industry knowledge

60 days in  

  • Research potential ticketing opportunities that would bring value and liquidity to the marketplace
  • Determine growth opportunities to pursue for existing assets based on data analysis and market trends
  • Begin securing deals with potential partners to expand our ticketing assets
  • Set performance goals for both new and existing positions and delegate to team
  • Begin assuming sole responsibility of specific performers while applying the pricing theorem and strategies set forth by the department
  • Contribute to our approaches, methods, or technologies to support overall business goals and drive team efficiencies
  • Maintain, harvest and aid internal and external relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives

 120 days in   

  • Curate and maintain a diverse portfolio of theater partners and venues
  • Track performance against goals and provide consistent feedback
  • Determine and implement more efficient business processes to further growth
  • Begin expanding your assignments and long-term asset management into a variety of categories and partners
  • Play an active role in continued learnings to advance skill sets necessary for departmental goals

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Professional experience in the secondary or primary ticketing industries for theater and live events
  • Experience constructing and managing diverse portfolios in any asset class or skill-based game with a detailed account of hedging against risk and identifying asymmetrical upside (preferred)
  • Experience screen-trading financial products or actively capitalizing on marketplace inefficiencies with a proven track record of trend recognition and risk management (preferred)
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets using 3rd party dashboards or Excel to determine areas for growth and monitor performance
  • Leverage data analysis to develop investment theses, pursue opportunities and forecast performance
  • Analytical, method-driven mind that values process which delivers repeatable, sustained results
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail alongside the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Adaptable schedule expecting to work outside of typical business hours to meet the demands of our industry
