Senior Associate, Client Relations (ESG Focus)
About the Role
The Client Relations team works with a diverse range of leading asset managers, asset owners, and other financial institutions on the integration of Sustainalytics' suite of research products and services. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics' growth story.
As a Senior Associate, you will assume a leading role in relationship management on our North American team. You will manage a portfolio of clients, working with them to incorporate Sustainalytics' research and data into their investment processes and other initiatives. You will work as an advisor to clients on product-specific expertise and ESG market best practices, driving client retention and growth. The Client Relations team also plays a key role in the innovation of Sustainalytics' solutions through collaboration with internal Product and Research teams.
Through this position you will obtain a thorough understanding of how investors implement ESG factors, work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment, and quickly assume new responsibilities. Strong communication skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to learn quickly about concepts related to ESG investing will be key to your success in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the retention and growth of your own client portfolio by encouraging the use and expansion of Sustainalytics' research and services
- Act as a trusted advisor to your clients and support them in building ESG strategies by providing advice and guidance on market best practices
- Educate clients on Sustainalytics' products and ESG market trends through presentations and training sessions
- Ensure that clients' research needs are met, including content and delivery
- Stay current on ESG market trends and developments, including Sustainalytics' latest products and services
- Mentor junior Client Relations team members through close collaboration in supporting clients
- Support Sustainalytics' product development by providing critical market feedback to our Research and Product teams
- Collaborate with colleagues in other North American and European offices - the desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics
Qualifications
- 4+ years of work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial services and ESG from either education, work experience, or personal interest
- Strong client servicing and commercial skills
- Ability to understand and present complex products and services in an engaging and digestible manner
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continued learning
- Adaptability, including comfort navigating uncertainty and managing competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in productivity software, such as Microsoft Office
- Alignment with Sustainalytics' mission, vision, and values
- Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences)
