About the Role
The Director of Cloud Services will be accountable for creating and managing Cloud Platform Products to enable Morningstar's Product Development. The position reports to the Director of Cloud and Infrastructure and will be part of the technology organization's leadership team.
Job Responsibilities
The Director of Cloud Services will be responsible for driving and delivering Cloud Platform for Morningstar products. The successful candidate will lead a team of Cloud Engineers and will collaborate with Morningstar's Product Development , security, IT operations, regional infrastructure and support teams to deliver projects as part of the technology organization's objectives of sustainable cost efficiency, improvement, and optimization of the IT portfolio as part of the company's overall technology strategy.

• Accountable for the ongoing governance, management, reliability and performance of Morningstar's Cloud platforms globally
• Oversee the Cloud Service delivery and integrations with Internal pipelines. Understands the need for enabling self-service with empathy for internal users balancing it with the need for governance and operating frameworks
• Ensure that projects are prioritized and aligned to deliver against Infrastructure transformation, service and risk objectives.
• Responsible for leading Morningstar's Cloud Center of excellence, responsible for public cloud infrastructure frameworks, roadmaps and governance.
• Responsible for people management and driving a positive team culture that continually encourages creativity, ownership and accountability.
• Find and retain a best-in-class team to enhance our capabilities and deliver our solutions. Mentor team to build next level leaders.
• Steer design of scalable Cloud Products with a vision to drive product adoption with governance
• Collaborate with Product development leadership to drive direction in Cloud, leveraging appropriate solutions on premise, SaaS or Multi Cloud.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of demonstrable experience in managing engineers accountable for complex/scalable products on premise and in Cloud
• 3+ years experience of management of large enterprise scale Cloud solutions
• 5+ years of experience in AWS
• 3+ years experience in Cloud Engineering, CI/CD disciplines and product development methodologies
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership of infrastructure change and transformation programs
• Successful and demonstrable track record of large scale product development, public cloud migrations, compute, storage & network projects
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organization skills with a results-oriented mindset
• People leadership skills, experienced in building a productive environment enabling career growth, development, hiring and retention of a talented engineering team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to influence, needs to demonstrate the ability to build consensus and support for proposals
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and proven track record of driving transformation
• Interest in the investment industry and strong knowledge of technology developments and trends is an advantage.
• A bachelor's degree

Nice to have

• Good understanding of Azure and/or GCP is an advantage.
• Understanding of Databases and applications.
