Senior Network Engineer
Summary
The Senior Network Engineer will have experience and familiarity with Cisco hardware and software. To be considered for this position, a candidate must be able to show this familiarity, plus demonstrate that they understand TCP/IP and Internet routing protocols. The candidate who fills this position will be working with other team members, providers and customers to design, implement and support new and existing connectivity solutions.
Responsibilities
- Planning, installing and maintaining customer-facing WAN connections
- Manage the documentation and administrate needs of a large WAN infrastructure
- Troubleshoot access and communication issues in a variety of environments
- Provide best quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Able to prioritize projects with respect to milestones and deadlines
- Willing to work as part of a team and share responsibilities when needed
- Flexible and willing to learn new technologies and applications
- Manage IP address block allocation and documentation
- Stay current on industry trends and new technologies
- Investigate new access methods and network technologies
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Able to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in sometimes stressful situations
Requirements
- Applicant should have a 4-year degree (or equivalent technical certifications)
- At least 10+ years of enterprise-level network related experience
- An active CCNP is preferred and a CCIE certification is desired
- Hands-on experience in an enterprise user environment with core switch experience, and enterprise WAN (MPLS, DWDM)
- Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with network architecture and protocols
- Customer contact experience with demonstrated ability to provide superior support to external customers
- Experience working for a consulting firm is preferred
