This position is a senior level analyst position for the non-foods team which is primarily focused on cosmetics, OTC medications, household cleaners, and dietary supplements. Experience in formulation, regulatory affairs, or related positions within one of these industries is expected at the senior level. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and confident decision maker who is able to use their industry expertise to help inform our data taxonomies. The person in this role must have excellent communication skills, and be able to organize and lead team projects. The ability to multi-task, manage numerous priorities, communicate, and a strong interest in the CPG industry will help a candidate succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert both internally and with external clients.
  • Stay on the cutting edge of industry initiatives and trends through independent research.
  • Understand FDA and EPA regulation as it impacts personal care, household cleaners and medicine products.
  • Familiarity with product formulation on an ingredient level and functional composition.
  • Understand active ingredients as they appear on cosmetics and drug products.
  • Lead various projects, occasionally delegating to Junior level analysts.
  • Suggest, outline, and drive quarterly projects based on current and anticipated future needs
  • Help to develop and grow a database of ingredients, marketing claims, and active ingredient data.
  • Work internally within the data and tech departments.
  • Write, run, and interpret SQL query results.
  • Create reports for both clients and internal management.
  • Provide status updates to management addressing project status, risks and issues

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a science or industry related field.
  • Experience in formulation, regulatory affairs, or related positions within the cosmetics, OTC medications, household cleaners, or dietary supplements industries.
  • Ability to develop and lead team projects.
  • Desire to share and develop a knowledge base as a team.
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel, including special formulas.
  • Ability to thrive working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Desire to grow and develop a career.

About the Team:

The Data Transformation team is a highly driven team of subject matter experts, whose backgrounds and experiences greatly influence the way data is organized and refined within the database. This team is divided into three subsections of food, non-food, and attribution specialists. It is the responsibility of this team to use industry regulations and trends to build taxonomies and inform data structure. The team is often utilized to develop custom attribution for clients, consulting with their in-house experts to build SPECs that suit specific use cases. We are experts in ingredients, marketing claims, and regulatory landscapes so that Label Insight is able to provide the most in-depth cutting edge data possible.
